Good news! I see more and more people drinking wine in bars and pubs these days. Higher demand can only lead to stiffer pricing competition and ultimately a greater choice in the marketplace.
Malcolm Gluck raises a good point about rose as well. Not only is rose non-season specific but it is a solid choice for couples who may want to dine on fish and meat but still want to share a bottle of wine together.
Fantastic! It’s good to see that popularity of wine within the UK has risen to an extent where key producers are finally taking note of our island. Hopefully this will result in better value and quality of wine for the consumer.
I think Malcolm Gluck has hit the nail on the head with the easier to read labels. It has increased the ease by which the average consumer can source good quality wine, thereby negating the need for needing specialist training.
